At MPS we are looking forward to 2024 and all the excitement, challenges and hope the new year holds. As with previous years we are determined to take on the year with our trademark determination and fortitude. Our calendar is already packed with many items which have become firm favourites for learners, staff and parents alike. Here’s just a “sneak peek” at 2024 of the grand things in store at MPS.
“In 2024 at MPS, we aim to foster holistic development in our youngest learners in our pre-primary and foundation phases. We acknowledge the crucial significance of early childhood education and focus on creating a nurturing environment that stimulates curiosity, creative abilities, and social skills,” says Mrs Antoinette Gauchè, Head of ECD and Foundation Phase.
“Our approach integrates play-based learning, technology, and personalized methods to accommodate individual learning styles. We go beyond traditional academic milestones by emphasizing the cultivation of emotional intelligence, resilience, and a passion for learning. Collaborative partnerships among educators, parents, and communities actively support each child’s developmental journey,” adds Antoinette.
“By prioritizing a well-rounded foundation in these early years, our goal is to equip young minds with the necessary skills and mindset to thrive in a rapidly evolving landscape. Ultimately, we aim to nurture a generation of lifelong learners and empathetic, adaptable individuals.”
At Noah’s Ark Pre-Primary the littlest MPS #Changemakers will compete in a fun race at MPS and a beach picnic where parents, learners and teachers get to know each other. There is also the eagerly anticipated Two Oceans Aquarium puppet show and grade R Teddy Bear picnic and of course our annual Grandparents/Special Persons Day.
On the Primary School front, we kick things off with our annual Inter House Sports day which sees grade R to grade 7 learners having a whale of a time cheering their ‘houses’ on whilst competing in good spirit. Our grade 5-7 camps are a good time for learners to get acquainted with each other and their new teachers while our annual Teddy Bear Picnic gives our grade 1 to 3 learners, parents and teachers the same opportunity.
Each year our Pre-Primary and Primary learners have the wonderful opportunity to honor some very special ‘VIPs’ at our Grandparents & Special Persons Day and 2024 at MPS will be no different.

“This year, our collective goal is to further amplify student engagement through tailor-made and phase-specific learning experiences that will nurture an already strong culture of curiosity. With a focus on well-balanced holistic education, under the IEB banner, we aim to equip our students with the skills and mindset necessary to thrive in an ever-evolving world.”
Our MPS High School learners take each other on in the annual Inter House Athletics which has proven to be an exciting and fun day and the enthusiasm and health competition then extends to our exciting Empie Challenge which sees teams of learners and teachers complete a grueling obstacle course – an event which promises thrills, spills and a lot of laughter.
Our entire senior and FET phase join together for a day of fun in the sun at our annual ‘Paarl Day’ where they can socialise as a group.
Our grade 8 to 12 camps are a highlight every year and 2024 we trust will be no different. The camps are the perfect way for learners and teachers to bond, build lasting friendships and enjoy working together as a team.
Other 2024 at MPS calendar highlights include our Grade 8 Concert and Interschools Athletics day.
